Blind Patient Sees Again With Eye Tooth

Sharron Kay Thornton was suffering from a rare disorder called Stevens-Johnson syndrome. She is legally blind. She regains her eyesight after a rare operation. In this operation a tooth is used because it can grow into a single piece and provide a stable platform to cornea. It is a multistage procedure began with extracting tooth from Thornton’s mouth. An Acrylic lens was inserted in tooth after drilling a hole in it. After that, this tooth is implanted inside her cheek for three month so the combination could heal together. After three month doctor extracted the tooth-lens combination from her body and inserted in eye after cut down a hole in it.
